Holy Spirit Lavington was part of the Albury mission which was founded in 1854. Lavington Parish was actually an off-shoot of Sacred Heart Parish which is located on Wagga Rd. The word John comes from the Greek Ioannes which is derived from the Hebrew Yochanan meaning God is gracious.
