Pastoral Care is the way in which the school as a community of people expresses its concern that each member of the community has the fullest opportunity for personal, academic, social and spiritual growth.

At Xavier, Pastoral Care is not problem-centred but is seen as a response to student’s life needs, which will include help with solving difficulties encountered in adolescence.

A network of support for student welfare is provided by House Coordinators with the assistance of Homeroom Tutors. Peer leadership is at the heart of the structure within each House and plays a significant part in the formation of each individual.

Xavier High School provides a student counselling service. This service is provided by Jade Winter. The focus is on helping students find solutions to the challenges they face by identifying strategies for change, developing new skills or building on existing strengths.
