Brother Dynan was the pioneer Principal of Aquinas College (1958-1963) that became part of Xavier High School in 1983. A Christian Brother, Brother Dynan continued the Christian Brothers’ commitment to the education of boys in a quiet and gentle way.

He is remembered for his willingness to work for others, his vision for education and his willingness to honour and protect the history of our school. Like the founder of the Christian Brothers Edmund Rice, Brother Dynan believed that a good education based on Christian principles would enable people to achieve their best.

Ronald McDonald Family Room Wodonga

Dynan house are continuing to support the Wodonga Ronald McDonald Family Room.

Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are a comfortable retreat for parents and families of children having day treatment at a hospital, and for families with children undergoing longer-term treatment who live close to the hospital. Located within the hospital, family rooms are a place to have a break, cook a meal, relax and unwind.

The Family Room in Wodonga supports the Special Care Nursery at the Wodonga Hospital and is also in close proximity to the maternity ward making it a perfect haven for new mums.

Each term small groups of students have visit the Family Room to complete community service activities. These students washed windows, baked cookies, assembled new toys, sweep the grounds outside and make decorations for the Volunteers Week celebrations. Dynan students also provide musical entertainment at the Volunteer Week celebration.

During their visits to the Family Room each group meets with a family who have been happy to share information about their newborn’s journey. They also visit the nursery to learn about the needs of sick and premature babies.

Students who have attended the Family Room find the experience extremely rewarding. Until you've been there, you can't imagine what it's like, a home away from home with a very relaxing feeling.

Students hold various fundraising events including Pancake Day, Silly Sock Day and Easter egg raffles, to raise funds for the Family Room which would be used to purchase toys and necessary equipment for the Family Room.
