Feather your hair and lace up those skates because Xanadu Jr., a kid-friendly version of Olivia Newton-John’s 1980 cult film, is being brought to Albury by ByteSized Productions and the Albury-Wodonga Theatre Company Inc. The musical company production is a revamped version of the Tony-nominated Broadway show, which opened in 2007. Kids who’ve never seen leg-warmers before and have no concept of the 80’s will still get a kick out of this story of a beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach. Kira sets out on a quest to inspire a struggling artist to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time — the first ever roller disco. Your family is sure to leave this kitschy blast from the past crooning the infectious title track, Magic, Evil Woman and all of Xanadu Jr.’s other retro hits.
