Xavier’s own William Chandler has started Corowa-Rutherglen’s week in fine style by winning the league’s under-16 best and fairest award. Chandler and his teammates now have a their eyes set on Sundays game against Wodonga to win the Grand Final Premiership.
Will Chandler has become the second Corowa-Rutherglen player in the past four seasons to take out the Albury-Wodonga Junior Football League’s under-16 medal.
Chandler emulated the feats of Bill Hansen in 2013 when he polled 18 votes to edge out Yarrawonga’s Sam Mickelson by one.
Earlier in the year, the classy forward kicked five goals on debut for the Roos’ seniors.
