On Friday evening Ms McKinley and Ms Aranda took some students from our school to the Stronger Rally in Yarrawonga. We were part of history as this was the first outdoor rally with the beautiful Lake Mulwala in the background. They converged with over 100 students who gathered for about three hours from around the Sandhurst diocese and beyond to celebrate their faith, sing, dance, worship, pray, relax and just have fun.
The night began with a wonderful meal, some music and games; Emily Cameron won the prize (a ‘Reach Out’ CD). There was also a short video and an informative and humorous talk. We heard several testimonies about the difficult journey of faith, how God works through those difficulties which make us the people we are today. The time for Eucharistic Adoration of Jesus Christ was quite special, listening to the inspirational words and heart-warming music of Fr. Rob. Another highlight of the evening included a panel discussion where young people were able to SMS questions about their faith for the panel to answer.
Such a fun and powerful youth Rally, showing how much God is at work in this young generation.
Keep your eyes for the upcoming Stronger Retreat for 16-26 year olds on Friday, December 5 (evening), until Sunday, December 7, 2014. This is an invitation to all Xavier students to join in these amazing events!
