Xavier’s Senior Football team played Corowa High School last week at Xavier Oval 1 in the Ross Henshaw Shield competition with the following result:
Xavier High School 21 – 12 –138
Corowa High School 4 – 5– 29
Xavier’s game against Corowa High School saw a clinical game and a consequent one-sided victory. Xavier kicked 7 goals to 1 goal in the 1st quarter to take a 40 point lead to the 1st break. In the 2nd quarter Xavier used the ball well and kicked 5 more goals to lead by 70 points at the main break. In the 2nd half Corowa rallied and competed well for the remainder of the match, but Xavier went on to record a commanding 109 point win. Jeremy Duck, Clay Moscher- Thomas and Lachlan Gould were solid in the midfield.
Jacob Cincurak was solid in the ruck, giving Xavier first use of the ball. Lachlan Tiziani, Mitch Lawrence and Ben Lloyd all presented well up forward and outclassed the Corowa defence. Xavier’s teams have both progressed to the AWSSFA Semi-Finals against Albury HS on Tuesday 17 June (Results will be published next week) at Xavier.
