Music Update

Well done to year 11 student Emily Pattison and year 12 student Emma Quirk for their fine performances in the recent AWTC musical ‘Sound of Music’. Both girls performed the role of nuns in the chorus and excelled in their roles. We are very proud of them!

Further thanks go again to Emma Quirk and year 12 student Ellen Hynes for their beautiful singing at the Service of Light and Hope which was held at St Matthews Anglican Church Albury in March. They brought great comfort to those families that attended and facilitator Leanne Kohler.

Upcoming events are an excursion for our elective music students to see a performance by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra on May 24 at the Albury Performing Art Centre.

Auditions for the Kool Skools 2013 recording project will be held in week 4 this term and are open to musicians who have composed an original composition or created their own unique cover of a popular song. The audition song can be performed by a soloist, duo or group.
Students are to watch the morning announcements for further details and can seek further information from Mrs Files or Mrs Boyd.

Entries are being finalized this week for the Albury Eisteddfod in early August. All students who are members of our vocal or instrumental ensembles are advised to strictly attend all scheduled rehearsals this term to fully prepare repertoire.

Congratulations to year 9 student Sarah O’Farrell and year 7 student Lauren Eddy who have major roles in the upcoming musical ‘Aladdin’ being staged by the Albury Wodonga Youth Theatre Company. It is great to see our students out there participating in community theatre.
