Last Friday Xavier students of French in Year 10 enjoyed a magnificent time on Dean
Street, Albury as part of their French Learning Program. It was a day filled with cultural
and linguistic activities.
Firstly, they visited the MAMA (Murray Art Museum Albury). Students took part in a
tour, focusing on the Marilyn Exhibition and the Sydney Nolan Photographic Display.
At the Library Museum students explored the collection of Francophile books and items.

The walk around Rue Dean was an absolute highlight. Students felt like a Parisian
strolling along the French inspired Fashion shops like Blue Illusion and Pour Mes Amis.
At Geoffrey Michael Pâtissier, students enjoyed un délicieux déjeuner français which
included Quiche Lorraine, Croissants, Sandwich au jambon et fromage, Croque-
Monsieur, Pain au Chocolat, Eclairs, Gâteau, Chocolat chaud, Café et Jus d’orange.
The franco-cultural outing concluded at L’Alliance Française French Film Festival, with
the French movie ‘Belle et Sebastian: l’aventure continue’.
Le français au collège Xavier est formidable ! Les étudiants adorent le français, les
musées, la haute cuisine, le cinéma, les cafés, et la culture de la Rue Dean, Albury.
