HSC Chemistry Excursion

As part of their coursework in Chemical Monitoring and Management, the Year 12 Chemistry class spent the day investigating how our town water is treated and analysed. The day began with tours of both the Huon Hill Water Treatment Plant and Albury Waterworks, to see the physical and chemical processes that provide our town with clean drinking water.

Then it was off to Wonga Wetlands to learn practical water sampling and analysis techniques. The day ended with a tour of Waterview to see (and smell) how the Albury City sewerage is treated along with a quick tour of the on-site analytical labs. Everyone finished the day with a much greater appreciation of the clean water we have on tap!
