On Thursday and Friday (September 12 & 13) Year 9 students participated in a Health4U Workshops conducted by qualified health professionals Dr Scott Finlay and Anne Shaw.

The H4U program was designed by the Centre for Adolescent Health in consultation with the Hume Medicare Local. It has been broadly implemented in rural, regional and urban schools. The program is a way for young people to learn how to use health services and build their confidence, skills and comfort in seeking health care and learn about issues that are of concern to them.

Explanations about their rights and responsibilities including confidentiality and the Medicare system will also be provided. We hope that by running such programs – young people, parents, schools and health services – we enhance the health of our children and their ability to get help when they need it.
