On Monday, April 30 we held our own Anzac day service in our 300 quad to pay our respects to the Anzacs as the whole school.
We were fortunate enough to have a guest speaker, a veteran of the Australian Defence Force Transport Corp, Haley Roberson with us to speak on the trauma of war, share her story, shed light and educate our students on what our Australian Defence Force face daily.
Ms Roberson’s story was moving, emotional and raw, enabling our students to witness first hand how fortunate we are to live in a country with freedom, due to our Defence Force protecting and serving our country every single day. Ms Roberson shared a wonderful slideshow of images of the reality of war, stripped back to reveal its reality. Ms Roberson also shared her experiences of working with untrained horses in Western Australia were she commented how horses teach you something about yourself and become almost a mirror of you post-war.
Please view the images of the day and her slideshow below.
We thank Ms Roberson for coming to Xavier and speaking on this moving topic.
