2017 ALBURY Further Eisteddfod Results

The Voice Collective Xavier Secondary School Choir.

Our school choir achieved an outstanding mark of 93 and second place in the open secondary school section. Pipped for first by one mark in one of the best and most closely contested sections the adjudicator remarked she had seen in years. Their performances of When The War Is Over and Youv’e Got A Friend bought a tear to her eyes! And ours…….

Our Senior Vocal A’Capella Group – Xavier High School

Our senior girls beautifully sang Ngarra Burra Ferra and Let It Be and were awarded 2nd place with a score of 90! Again they lost by only one mark in a well contested and high level section.

BANDS – U/18 Vocal and Instrumental Section

Some of our talented members of GATE-way from year 10 competed very creditably against five other senior ensembles in the above section and received a highly commended award with a score of 86 marks. They gave a delightful rendition of the jazz classic ‘Lullaby of Birdland’.
